Characters Hero A transfer student from the city who’s come to the quiet town of Inaba while his parents are away for business. While his name is determined by the player, he’s known as “Seta Souji” in the manga based on the game. Yosuke Hanamura Yosuke befriends the protagonist early on. Friendly, outgoing, likes music. Also something of a klutz, since he often inflicts pain on himself, usually from crashing on his bike. Chie Satonaka Chie has a fondness for Chinese martial arts, and associated media.
He has a distant relationship with his sister, and feels that this will never change. However, this suddenly changes when he finds one of her eroge and, after confronting her with it, learns that she is an otaku. Through this experience he realizes that he knows very little about his sister, including her being a model as well as an exemplary student.
Fans of Persona 3 have been especially more critical due to how much payoff the final hours of that game had (hours which to this day are widely considered some of the greatest storytelling in any of Atlus’ games), while fans of Persona 4 have taken issue with how the ending is .
Page 2 The newest fighting game from the Arc Systems, the team behind Guilty Gear and Blaz Blue, is out this week and for most fighting game fans, that’s all they need to know. But the game in question, Persona 4: Arena , has a ton of history attached, reaching back as far as the late s and the NES. If you never played Persona before or any of the related Shin Megami Tensei games, or even you have, there’s much to learn.
Though the series is known for its density, well take you through the history of Persona and its parent franchise Shin Megami Tensei as delicately as we can. It all started more than 20 years ago in Japan Shin Megami Tensei begins It all began on the Japanese version of the NES, the Famicom, with the original Megami Tensei, which in turn was based on a popular novel of the same name. The role-playing game had you playing as a Japanese teen who accidentally releases demons into the world using a computer program.
Despite the differences between the diverse collection of SMT sub-series, this intersection of technology and ageless demons is almost always present. From the start the series stood out from JRPG competition like Final Fantasy, not only because of its modern setting, but also its more PC inspired first-person view. And it was way ahead of the curve with its monster-collecting gameplay.
By the time the series adopted its current name of Shin Megami Tensei on the Super Famicom Japan’s Super NES , it had established a healthy cult following in Japan, but publisher Atlus had yet to introduce the series to the West, probably due in some small part to Nintendo’s restrictions on demonic imagery. This would eventually change. The very red 3D portable system was troubled from the start and cancelled quickly, but at least Jack Bros has the dubious distinction of being one of the best VB titles ever.
After Jack Bros, Atlus struggled for several years to find a way to get the series to catch on outside of Japan.
PSP review by Bart Robson on July 7, Persona Western Shin Megami Tensei fans have a lot to thank Persona 3 for, even if the popular spin-off is vastly different to the older, more hardcore titles like Nocturne, or even the older Persona and Persona 2. The game is smoothed out a great deal thanks to these seemingly minor changes, particularly the ability to give direct orders to each party member. Some boss fights were a crap-shoot in vanilla Persona 3, simply because the AI would do something useless at a crucial moment; this is an issue that has been completely resolved for P3P.
Nov 14, · In the PSP version of “Persona 3,” also known as “Shin Megami Tensei 3,” you will have the opportunity to play as a female protagonist. Opt to play as a female and one of your secondary goals can be to become one of the male characters’ “girl” and date him.
Sh0rty Sh0rty 7 years ago 1 So there’s a few interesting girls in this game to date, but what one do I choose? I’m the male MC because I never played this game before, so dont give me any hate for not picking FemMC I’m initially interested in Yukari because I don’t know a flippin thing about her so far, just that she’s lost her parents like the MC. Plus, she’s typically the girl I would go for IRL. Anyways, any other suggestions are welcomed too I don’t know who else is available, if any.
I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve gamemaster 7 years ago 2 Sh0rty posted So there’s a few interesting girls in this game to date, but what one do I choose? So Mitsuru is available too? Kind of a know-it-all.
With their help, SEES is able to explore Tartarus further and defeat Greater Shadows that appear every full moon, believing that by killing all twelve of them, they will be able to end the appearance of the Dark Hour. However, SEES learns they have been misled; by destroying the Greater Shadows, they have freed parts of a being called Nyx who will bring about the end of the world if it is fully restored.
It is revealed that the Kirijo Corporation was attempting to do this ten years ago, but Nyx was released prematurely in a laboratory accident that also created the Dark Hour and Tartarus. Aigis, a robot designed to fight Nyx, battled the being but was unable to fully defeat it, instead dispersing parts of it into the Greater Shadows, and installing the last part into that of a young boy nearby, revealed to be the Main Character.
SEES encounters Ryoji, a teenage boy who tells him he is Death incarnate and that if they do not kill him by December 31, he will unwillingly usher in Nyx and the end of the world.
Speak with Shinjiro at every opportunity. The more you speak with him, the more you will raise your connection level with him. After October 4th, in-game time, you can begin dating him if you have spoken with him every time you could.

My question is will there be any other consequences? Would the treasurer girl still got upset if I try to see another girl?
Would she make up with me later? Zyzzogeton Zyzzogeton 4 years ago 2 They removed the jealousy system in P3P. The text warning is just something they forgot to clean up when porting this game. If a Social Link reverses, then you’ll need to keep on spending time with that person or do Shrine stuff. It automatically unreverses though. How you met mom? Dad, we don’t care about that!
All I know is that one of those options says, “Arigatou. Especially considering fans were treated to an expansion, FES, about a year after its release, which is not included in the portable version, it’s a valid concern. Here’s something I firmly believe, however:
Persona 3 Portable, for the PSP, has attracted note for having introduced an apparent sex scene event for the newly introduced female protagonist. Playing as a female protagonist, a night-time bedroom dialogue with Shinjiro Aragaki leads to the option to “not go home,” with the consequence th.
Standard Verified Purchase I thought my review might be of some use as I’m not a gigantic fan of Japanese RPGs, and probably most people aware of this game or writing reviews for it are. I love Sakaguchi’s games But that’s about it. So I almost skipped Persona 3. It sounded like an “off brand”, probably overly complicated, boring to me game I just figured it would be another game hyped by hardcore JRPG players that I end up not being able to stand.
The Giant Bomb guys playing through Persona 4 is one of the few reasons I gave it a shot
Gameplay[ edit ] The Protagonist gains academic skills by studying in the school library. The upper-right area of the screen indicates the current date, time period, and phase of the moon. Persona 3 combines elements of traditional role-playing games and simulation games. The game follows the protagonist character, balancing their daily life of going to school and building relationships with other people with fighting evil beings known as Shadows during the mysterious Dark Hour.
With the exception of scripted events, such as plot progression or special events, the player is free to choose how each day is spent, with most activities causing time to pass on. The types of activities and characters that can be interacted with vary depending on the day of the week and time of day.
Update: I like Japanese RPGs again. It was just a few years ago that I was a Japanese RPG freak. In just one holiday, I asked for and received Persona 3 FES, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, and Rogue of the biggest JRPGs to land at the end of the PS2 lifespan.
A Abduction — An abduction is an activity that sometimes occurred at early SCA events, where a person was abducted by a fighter or fighters, who were then chased down by those who wished to. The “abductee s ” usually had previously given permission to be abducted otherwise someone could be hurt, frightened, upset This was done with a great hue and cry so that any fighter who was willing could give pursuit.
They would then fight what was effectively a challenge match to free the abductee s. In the very early days, the Queen was often the “abductee”, but also various young ladies were often abducted This Kingdom covers these regions in the US: West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, and western New York.
I do not bury myself in literature and usually if a good book is recommended to me I almost always wait for the movie. By contrast, this seems at odds with my affection for writing and enjoying AAA video games. But now, I have become enamored with an amalgamation that blends my love of literature with visual graphics into an interactive, non-linear storytelling mechanism. I am suddenly breaking for something that is unique, visceral and totally unconventional for a conventional gamer.
What is this hybrid-fusion of literature and gaming I speak of?

Persona 3 Portable Review Welcome tweaks and new story aspects enhance this already great role-playing classic. Published by Shiva Stella on Jul 20, Persona 3 Portable is the third iteration of the highly popular PlayStation 2 role-playing game, Persona 3. It’s just as enjoyable but now includes a female protagonist for a fresh perspective, along with new story aspects. It’s also been successfully streamlined for greater convenience, finally allowing you to assume direct control of party members.
Barring a degree of repetitiveness, P3P is a robust adventure that is especially well suited for series newcomers. Summon a great variety of customizable persona to demolish your foes.
Not content to rest on their heels and produce a straight port, Persona 3 Portable P3P has been retooled and expanded to fit the PSP system. I was allowed to spend a few hours with the game and was able to experience many of the changes coming with this new version, which make this version feel almost completely new. First off, Atlus has streamlined a lot of Persona 3 to make the portable experience much more manageable.

This way-too-damn-long article goes into Persona 3’s Social Links in detail. But hey, if you obsess about the Persona games as much as I do, then I’m here for you. Last year I went full-retard with the Persona series, beating Persona 4 twice and Persona 3 FES once in a three-month span, in addition to sinking some hard time into Persona 4 Arena.
Aug 23, · Now it’s and I’m only slightly less Persona-crazy, having beaten Persona 3: Portable (FeMC route) over the course of six months and having started ANOTHER run of Persona 3 FES. Going for max Social Links this time, using a guide.
Edit Yukari’s deceased father, Eiichiro Takeba , worked for the Kirijo Group while they were conducting Shadow research. He was opposed to the idea of bringing about the Fall , a stance that caused him to be killed by Mitsuru’s grandfather. These events created most of the problems that SEES is forced to overcome. Yukari’s mother dealt with the pain from the loss of her husband by dating numerous shallow boyfriends and essentially abandoned her daughter, annoying Yukari.
Yukari and her mother even had to move multiple times, just to get away from the backlash of blame and vitriol for Eiichiro being held responsible for the deaths of many Kirijo Group researchers as he was in charge of the research team, even though the details of Eiichiro’s role were not entirely clear and there were all sorts of rumors. Yukari ends up alone, which, coupled with the distress of losing her father, caused her to become quite introverted, which helps her connect with the protagonist because he also knows what it’s like to prematurely lose a parent, making him the only person aside from Fuuka she opens up to.
Yukari receiving her father’s post-mortem letter. When Yukari enrolled at Gekkoukan High School , she finally received the letter her father wrote 10 years ago. Realizing her father’s wishes and his love for her, Yukari decided to join SEES, and hopefully learn the truth about the events that caused her father’s death. She joins SEES prior to the protagonist’s arrival for the reason of cooperating with the Kirijo Group in order to find some truth and information about her father, including the reason for his death.
This time is detailed in Persona 3: Owari no Kakera , although the only known thing Yukari-related is that Mitsuru and Akihiko were unsure of her potential as the newest Persona user at the time. The Journey Edit Yukari trying to shoot herself in the head.
