I should know because my 98 zx2 has a watt amp connected to the rear speakers and a on the front. What you have to do is take your speakers out and run wiring from the back d the head unit to the inputs on the amp. Then from the amp run the wires to the speakers. This means taking the seats out and removing every panel between the dash and the lift gate. It’s a two day job but its well worth it in the end. And my advice to you is this. Stereo wiring is in fact the easiest wiring to do because everything is marked and coded.

Tube Stuff Suppliers Appendix B. Tube amps have always been the amplifier of choice for the working musician. Musical myth has ascribed almost magical tone to them. While the results may not be entirely magic, tubes do have a sound that is different from solid state amplifiers, and one that happens to make amplified music sound better to the human ears and brain. There are lots of technical and psuedo-technical explanations for why this should be true, but there is enough solid evidence that it is a real effect to trust it.

The real reason to use tube amps is simply that they sound better. For that advantage, we put up with the poor supply of parts, high prices, fragility and excess heat that they produce.

How to get killer tones on your bedroom setup Posted on August 31st Comments Most of us spend a great deal of time playing guitar in either a bedroom or a small home recording studio. Limited space, grumpy neighbours and a patient family makes it hard to really crank that amp. Still, we all want a big and fat tone that has all the qualities of playing on a loud stack.

One of the questions I get asked frequently is how to design a speaker cab. I’m not the best source of info in the world for this, so luckily Michael Sabolish has come to the rescue with an excellent write up for you .

Unfortunately there was almost no example of someone playing a Les Paul or similar through it for If you are looking for an amp to shred through with a sound like late 80s speed metal, this won’t do without a solid state pedal in front of it. However, if you are looking for a more classical dark growl, roar and punch sound like Tony Iommi or a powerful straight ahead hard rock sound like Angus Young or Joe Perry you can get there with your Les Paul plugged straight in, no pedals required.

The amp is very responsive to the player and the guitar. The 10″ Celestion speaker is clearly better than typical for this price range, however if you are looking for some heavy thump in your sound, you will need an external cab with 12s in it–this could be due to the closed-back design. At the 4 watt setting, it is very loud for anyone but 16 year old mountain dew freaks.

At 4 watts you can get nice clean round chimey sounds at bedroom level from your strat. You might think that you won’t get a good thick sound at such a low level. There are a lot of great amp modeling devices out there, speaker simulators etc.

Bose is known only using paper cone drivers pushed into unusually small boxes, never publishing frequency response specs, and suing Consumer Reports for giving them a bad review. Even though paper is a good material to use for speaker drivers, and plenty of audiophile companies don’t publish specs, the perception is that Bose is overpriced junk. Truth is a little different, Amar Bose was definitely not an evil man, instead one of the world’s great philanthropists, and his company pushed the boundaries of audio more that most people realize.

The receiver powers the rear speakers only. as you can see,the info is for a nissan sentra ,,now my question is,,how or can i get power from the amp to the rear speakers,,,,i had skpoken to Garrett when i bought my speakers.

There are FOUR screws which hold the center dash panel in place. Get a medium 2 phillips size screwdriver, and sit down in the driver’s seat. At the top of the center dash panel is a long thin air conditioning vent. Look carefully at the sides of the vent – the tapered edges are actually plastic caps that are covering up two screws! Pry them straight outward with your index finger, but be careful not to let them drop down inside the air vent.

You should have revealed the two upper screws. There are two metal spring clips holding it in place. It snaps straight off – you may need to use a flathead screwdriver, but it doesn’t take too much effort. Thus the other two screws are revealed. Unscrew these 4 screws. At this point, there are just a handful of clips holding the center panel in place.

Ask Question Step 7: The Heater Power Supply s Unfortunately, the filament secondary for my power transformer isn’t a separate winding, and doesn’t have a center tap. Maybe I could disassemble the trannie and see if the coils could be separated Placing two large diodes in parallel but opposite directions in an AC supply limits the voltage by the voltage-drop amount. That dropped the filament voltage right to 6. The two-diode trick works only for AC–current flows through one diode at a time, dropping that half of the waveform by the diode’s voltage drop amount.

Adding a subwoofer and amplifier to your existing stereo is a great way to improve the bottom-end output of your system and is one of the most common upgrades performed on a car’s audio gear.
